I believe maintaining a healthy diet is very important in teens and adults. If you start out young eating a healthy diet, you are more likely to eat healthier later on in life. Eating healthy is very simple, and there are so many ways you can go about doing it. According to the American Heart Association, yes, your body does need fats, but when you eat six cookies, it's a little big too much fat and sugar for you body. Fats give you energy you need to get through the day, and help absorb important nutrients.Eating healthy doesn't mean you have to go on a diet. You can eat healthy by following the food pyramid. You can eat healthy food that tastes good, it all doesnt have to be food that you don't like. Just by using splenda, instead of regular sugar is healthy, but you still get to enjoy foods you normally eat. According to Organichealthyeating.com, eating healthy can improve your appearence and how you feel about your self. Just by eating broccoli a few times a week, you can reduct the risk of getting cancer. And by by eating healthy foods, it helps keep extra weight off.The USDA recomends you eat all the catergories of the food pyramid, even the fats, but very sparingly. You don't have to give up your favorite foods to eat healthy. For example, just cut down to a soda a day, and instead of eating Doritos for an after school snack, try celery instead. It basically has negative calories because it already doesn't have any calories, plus you burn calories while you chew it. Another healthy tip is to drink more water, our bodies are 75% water, so whenever you're feeling hungry, just drink a glass of water. If i'm ever feeling hungry and craving a candy bar, i just eat a bowl of cereal, and the hunger goes away. There are many different ways to eat healthy, just think before you eat!
